Own Your Glow

A handmade balm born in a London kitchen, from a sister to her brother — now a small house of natural skincare named for the goddess.

The Origin

A name that means
goddess

In late 2024, my brother Agastya was eight and swimming four times a week. The chlorine took its toll — rashes, dry patches, the skin around his lips red and sore. Nothing we found felt gentle enough to put on skin that young.

So I started reading about ingredients and testing at home. At the beginning of 2025 I made the first balm. Watching his skin heal — and watching him feel better about it — was the moment I understood this might help other people too.

Devī means goddess in Sanskrit. The first balm is called Shakti — power. Every jar is still made by hand, in small batches, at home in London.

The Formula

Five ingredients,
each doing a job

Shakti has a short ingredient list on purpose. Nothing is in there to bulk it out.

Almond, walnut and coconut oils are all nut-derived — please avoid Shakti if you have a nut allergy. Patch test first if your skin is sensitive. Not recommended for acne-prone skin.

“The first balm he was genuinely happy to use.”

I really enjoyed trying Devī’s first product, and it has made such a positive difference for my 9 year old son. He is a competitive swimmer, and because his feet are constantly exposed to water, the skin on his toes had started to peel and become irritated. Devī has helped to soothe and improve the condition of his skin, making a noticeable difference and helping his body recover after his long swimming sessions.

What makes Devī even more special for us is that my son struggles with tactile sensory issues, which has always made applying creams or lotions to his face and body quite challenging. Many products feel uncomfortable for him, but Devī’s light, non-sticky texture and beautiful, gentle scent made it the first balm he was genuinely happy to try and continue using.

I love that Devī is made with natural ingredients and fewer harsh chemicals compared to many other brands, meaning I feel confident allowing my son to use it anywhere on his body. It has become a soothing and practical part of his routine, especially after swimming.

“One of the best products I have used in years.”

Since trying Devī, I cannot imagine my skincare routine without it. It is genuinely one of the best products I have used in many years.

It feels wonderfully light on the skin, has a gorgeous scent, and is not greasy at all. I use it as an overnight treatment, and my skin looks noticeably fresher in the morning — even after a less-than-perfect night’s sleep.

One of the things I value most is that my 12-year-old daughter and I can use the same product. As a competitive swimmer, she had begun to experience quite a few skin imperfections, particularly on her forehead. Devī has helped her enormously. Knowing that it is made with natural ingredients gives me confidence in letting her use it, and the results have made it more than worthwhile. She loves how it feels on her skin and, most importantly, she can see the difference herself.

“It made the colour go back to normal.”

Devī was really good at fixing my skin around my lips. It had gotten very red after swimming and then started to go black after being in the winter wind. Devī then made the colour go back to normal and also softened my skin. I love Devī!

Agastya is the founder’s younger brother. His skin, worn down by four swim sessions a week, is the reason the first batch of Shakti was ever made.

“Soft and hydrated even the morning after.”

I thought the product was great, I used it mostly at night before bed in my guasha routine. It worked well and kept my skin feeling soft and hydrated even the morning after. I loved the smell as well, felt very relaxing!

Shakti’s density is what makes it work as gua sha slip — it holds under the stone instead of absorbing away, then finishes as skincare rather than needing to be wiped off.

“It protects my hair from feeling dry and brittle.”

Devī has a wonderful balm that’s been working great for me! I use it on my hair right before I go in a sauna or a steam room. In the sauna it protects my hair from feeling dry and brittle afterwards, and in the steam room the balm helps my hair feel softer and rejuvenated. I have yet to use the balm on my body but I’m sure it will work just as well as it does on my hair.

An unplanned use we didn’t formulate for — and the one that changed how the balm is described. Worked through dry ends, the butters form a barrier against dry heat.

Beauty That Gives Back

Every jar leaves
something behind

Beyond skincare, 10% of profits is given to the Avanti Welfare Trust, a UK registered charity (no. 1145546) supporting welfare initiatives in India and London — so every product becomes part of a story greater than itself.

The Trust was founded and is chaired by Minnolli’s father. We name that plainly rather than leave it unsaid.

Good To Know

Questions, answered

What is actually in it?

Shea butter, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil and vitamin E. That is the whole list. There is no water in the balm, which is why it needs no synthetic preservative — microbes need water to grow. The full INCI list is printed on every jar.

I have a nut allergy. Can I use it?

No. Almond and coconut oils are nut-derived and the balm is not suitable if you have a nut allergy. Please do not use it, and do not give it to anyone who does.

Is it suitable for children?

It was originally made for a nine-year-old and is used by children in several of the families who reviewed it. Patch test on a small area first, avoid the eyes, and keep the jar out of reach of very young children.

Can I use it on my face?

A thin layer on clean skin, or as slip for a gua sha routine. It is a rich balm, so less than you think. It is not recommended for acne-prone skin.

How do I store it?

Away from heat and direct sunlight. The balm softens in a warm room and firms up again — that is normal for a butter-and-oil balm and does not affect it. Scoop with clean, dry fingers.

How is it delivered, and what if something is wrong?

Posted first class from London once your batch is made, usually within a few days. Hand delivered free within Hammersmith & Fulham. If a jar arrives damaged or is not what you expected, reply to your confirmation email within 14 days and Minnolli will replace it or refund you.

You say 10% of profits goes to charity. To whom?

To the Avanti Welfare Trust, a UK registered charity (no. 1145546) supporting welfare initiatives in India and London. The Trust was founded and is chaired by Minnolli’s father — we say so openly. Devī is not a charity itself; the 10% is calculated on profit, not turnover, and is given after each production run.

Who makes it?

Minnolli Kanthed, by hand, at home in London, in small batches, alongside school. Equipment is cleaned and sterilised before every batch.
